"This text should and must be the basic reference for every Young Adult course taught in every library school. It should be the bible for any librarian who works with teens. It should be the manual for all who wish to have a moment of epiphany as s/he develops a YAttitude."
-- Catholic Library World

"A cornucopia of information and tips on how to provide excellent service in libraries to young adults in spite of restraints involving collections, space and personnel...Although aimed at primarily public libraries, this could also be required reading for school librarians."
-- ARBA

"An upbeat, well-organized must-have for anyone working with this audience."
-- School Library Journal

"[an] invaluable resource, your best one-stop shopping for guidance on young adult services."
-- The Bulletin of the Center for Children’s Books

"It would be quite easy to build an entire library school course around this thoroughly revised edition. It is all here...The information here is invaluable, especially to new librarians or for those who have learned all of this information piece-meal and for those who need a strengthening of resolve or an update of skills. Consider it an investment in continuing education for staff and one’s self."
-- VOYA

"In this much-needed update, the authors present a comprehensive guide to the why and how of serving teens."
-- Booklist

I have welcomed, loved, and used Connecting Young Adults and Libraries through two editions, but this third edition is so much better that I cannot believe anyone purporting to serve adolescents in libraries in the 21st Century can claim to be doing anything without being familiar with it! This book has everything---clear philosophical goals for the service grounded in developmental assets; an incredible list of how-tos by authors who have been there, done that; a lively text; and a rock-solid understanding of the real kids who need us, not the fantasy kids we often confuse with them.
