Kate Theimer is the author of the popular ArchivesNext blog, as well as a regular speaker at conferences and workshops on issues related to the use of Web 2.0 technologies by archives and historical organizations. In conjunction with her blog, she created and manages the “Best Archives on the Web” and the “Movers and Shakers in Archives” awards, as well as the Archives 2.0 wiki. Kate holds a Master of Information degree with a specialization in archives and records management from the University of Michigan and a Master of Arts from the University of Maryland, and has held positions at the National Archives and Records Administration, the Smithsonian Institution, and the Historical Society of Washington, D.C. She is also the editor of a forthcoming book from the Society of American Archivists about the implications of Web 2.0 tools for the archival profession.
