Drug Information: A Guide to Current Resources builds on the author’s 30 years of experience as an online educator, writer, and information management consultant. Bonnie Snow (BA, MS) currently works in product development as Research Director of Clinical Content and Applications for Pharma/Chem Markets at Thomson Scientific (now Thomson Reuters). She has also served as Director of Pharmaceutical Market Applications for Thomson Dialog, consulting education officer for Excerpta Medica, lecturer in library and information science at Catholic University, and librarian at the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science, where she taught two accredited courses for graduate and undergraduate students.

Miss Snow’s bibliography includes more than 70 book and journal publications, many of which appeared as part of the “Caduceus” series in Online and Database magazines from 1985 through 1995. This work earned her a prestigious industry award for Excellence in Online Published Columns. She was also featured in the books Secrets of the Super Searchers (1993) and Super Searchers on Health & Medicine (2000). More recently, she contributed a chapter to Using the Pharmaceutical Literature (2006). In addition, Miss Snow has presented papers at conferences of the American Institute of Biological Sciences, the American Chemical Society, the Symposium on Computer Applications in Medical Care, and the International Society of Medical Publication Professionals. As an invited speaker, she has conducted many workshops for advanced pharmaceutical online searchers in Japan, China, Korea, Switzerland, Sweden, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the UK, as well as the United States.

In her capacity as a certified continuing education instructor for the Medical Library Association (MLA) since 1979, Miss Snow has developed and taught courses on drug information, online biochemical and toxicology searching, designing online user education, healthcare statistics, and information retrieval in alternative medicine. She has also presented numerous subject specialty seminars accredited by the Special Libraries Association (SLA) and the Drug Information Association on topics such as pharmaceutical competitive intelligence, drug and device regulatory resources, pharmacovigilance, and new drug delivery technologies.

Miss Snow has been actively involved in organizations for information professionals in other capacities, as well. She was elected Chair of the Libraries-Educational Resources Section of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy in 1980 and served as Chair of the SLA Pharmaceutical & Health Technology Division in 1997-1998. In 2006, she was honored with the SLA Division’s Distinguished Member Award. She has also completed three separate terms as Chair of the Pharmacy & Drug Information Section of MLA.
