Russell D. James is a professional ebook literary agent and freelance editor residing in Pensacola. As a literary agent, he specializes in working with records and information professionals. He was an archivist and records manager for over a decade in public libraries, special libraries, and government records centers. He has written press releases for each of these. As a freelance editor, he specializes, in part, in writing press releases, and has written them for small and large companies, Fortune 500 corporations, and nonprofit groups. He is the former managing editor of Cantadora Press of Pensacola, the former associate editor of the Mexican War Journal, is the founding editor of Chapters and Loose Papers: A Newsletter of the SAA Student Chapters, and has been the indexer for Provenance: The Journal of the Society of Georgia Archivists since 2003. He has published archives articles in Provenance and the Journal of Archival Organization. He is the former chair and newsletter editor of the Society of American Archivists (SAA) Records Management Roundtable and president of the SAA Student Chapter at LSU, as well as a member of various SAA working groups and task forces. He is the author of over a dozen books on history and genealogy and is a published novelist, poet, playwright, and short story writer, some published under various pseudonyms.
